Zaqeh heavy oil field


  • Zaqeh heavy oil field is located in the southwest Iran along the Persian gulf cost north of Bandar Dailam.

  • The Zaqeh field is placed in south of Rag-e Safid oil field and separated from this field by a thrust fault

  • The field was discovered in 1979

  • One well was drilled in this field (1979-1986) [because of some problem this drilling was periodic]

  • Total depth of this well is 4394 mdd.

    Oil Characterization


  • This well flowed oil to surface in Pabdeh formation with nearly 7500 psi wellhead pressure.

  • The well test showed the reservoir pressure nearly 14500 psi

  • The oil which is produced is 14-15 Deg. API

  • The Asphaltene content tested was 15% (weight per.)
